SEO Igloo puts us on the hot seat
February 21st, 2008 by
My friends at Solas Web Design are doing a great interview series on “Local SEO”.
These interviews are a little technical in some cases but still make a great read regardless of your level of knowledge. How do I know so much? One of them is with me 🙂
Among the other usual suspects so far are:
- David Mihm – a small business website designer and SEO consultant off to find fame and fortune as a Portland SEO
- Mike Blumenthal – who devotes way to much time to Understanding Google Maps
- Andrew Shotland – The Local SEO Guide
- Tim – A fellow YP refugee who tells us how to Convert Offline (a pet concept)
- Me
So, the most telling thing I’ve learned thus far is that 3 of 5 interviewees are Yellow Pages refugees.
Miriam is doing a great service blogging, writing over at Search Engine Guide and keeping up with the goings on in local SEO.
It’s a good thing too — It’s easier to live vicariously than try to add all that to my plate.
Following any links in this post will take you to some great reading.
Cheers,
Will
I x-country ski, I cook, I clean, I do the laundry, I go to my kids sports events, I read to my son every night.
I admit I don’t shovel snow, I am not very handy around the house and I occasionally slack off from work but everyone deserves a dirty little secret, no?
Mike Blumenthal
Mike, Amen brother. And you contribute like crazy to the pool of knowledge too.
And I’m sure we all appreciate it.
Greetings, Will. You gave great answers to Miriam’s interview questions over at Solas Web Design, so I followed a link she posted to get here. But where is the Louisiana crawfish that you and Miriam spoke about?
Hey Christina,
Thanks for dropping by. In the header is a rotating image which includes the pirate ships in San Diego, Bourbon Street and a plate of crawfish.
It’s an incentive to come back often 🙂
Or you can just refresh til they come up.
Hi Will, this is my first time checking out your blog and so far I like what I see. Its great that your helping to promote for your friends, that’s what sets success apart from failure most times in this industry. Knowledgeable people can only go so far, unless they are Eugenius, very unlikely. Anyways, keep up the good work and I will talk to you soon. Oh yeah, I see that your in Louisiana, I am in Lafayette. We should get together and talk sometime.
